From the young age of about 8 I loved listening to the radio and hearing the Detroit Tigers baseball games, that’s where it all started. I would keep score, act like the PA guy doing starting line ups and then listening to a mentor for me Ernie Harwell describe the game and the scene.
Fast forward to the age of 25 or so and I’m in radio and I was asked if I had ever done play by play or color for baseball, of course I said yes. I figured as much as I listened and watched the game I could do this.
Well it’s now almost 35 plus years later and this is what I do and I love it!
